Internship Program

Internship Goals

The internship program aims to provide law students an opportunity to experience
DivinaLaw’s practice and culture, specifically:
• To work under the supervision of a lawyer in different practice areas
• To apply knowledge learned in the classroom
• To develop new skills by being involved in actual cases or projects

Duration and Schedule of the Internship

The program shall be for a minimum of

one hundred twenty (120) hours and a maximum
of two hundred forty (240) hours.
• Workdays shall be from Monday to Friday.

Eligibility for the DL Internship Program

The Internship Program shall be open to third year and fourth year law students.
• Academic performance shall be considered in evaluating eligibility to the program. Each interested applicant
shall be required to submit a copy of his/her grades and a comprehensive curriculum vitae.
• Second year law students may be accommodated on a case-to-case basis and depending on availability of slots.

Focus Areas

The internship program shall focus on litigation and corporate practice. The program shall cover the
following specific areas of training:
• Legal Research
• Legal Writing
• Contract Drafting

• Filing organization and Document Management
• Court procedures and filings
• Comprehensive note-taking

A checklist of tasks per practice group shall serve as a guide for all Mentors in determining the day-to-day
work assignments of their respective interns. This will ensure that significant tasks have been covered during
the internship and maximum exposure and training will be given to the intern for those tasks.

Timeline / Schedule

The program shall begin every June of each year.
Selection shall begin April of each year. Once selected, interns shall undergo an orientation before they are
deployed to the appropriate practice group.

Implementation of Internship Program

Each intern shall be assigned to the appropriate practice group.
• The Senior Partners of the practice group shall assign a Mentor Lawyer for each intern.They shall
likewise oversee the distribution of the projects given to the interns assigned to their group.
• Each Mentor shall ensure that the Internship Checklist has been covered and appropriate guidance and
training is provided to the intern.
• Only Partners from the practice group shall be allowed to give out instructions and work assignments
to the interns and oversee the distribution of the projects to them. They may delegate the review of the
work product to the assigned Mentor.
• Each intern shall be required to submit a Daily Accomplishment Log and certified to by the Mentor
Lawyer.
• At the end of the program, the intern’s performance shall be evaluated, and a feedback form shall be
given to the intern prepared by the Mentor and approved by the Senior Partner.
• After the completion of at least 120 hours, a certificate of completion may be issued to the intern. Should the intern opt for the full 240 hours, the certificate of completion shall reflect the total hours rendered.
